Remarkable Cave

Remarkable Cave is a a rock bridge carved out of the sandstone cliff face by sea erosion.

It is a short but rewarding walk from the car park although the descent involves over 100 steps which take you to a viewing platform with a view of the cave opening, which looks the shape of Tasmania.

Visitors sometimes witness waves crashing through the tunnel at high tide.

The Remarkable Cave car park and toilet facilities were upgraded at the end of 2019 and now include a new viewing platform with views of Maingon Bay and Cape Raoul.

The viewing platform is also open at night with views to the south, which is perfect for viewing the Southern Aurora when it occurs.

The car park is also the start of the walk to Crescent Bay and Mount Brown.
